Leon Derebery has a passion for power and a need for speed. For 25 years, he has devoted himself to the
marine industry - building high-performance engines, racing powerboats and consulting with boat
manufacturers. Among the elite in the field of high-performance marine engines, Leon is owner and
manager of Derebery Performance Marine. Master Marine Technician From 1993-2001, Leon was the
Service Manager for one of the largest inland marinas in the U.S. Leon received the MerCruiser Master
Tecnician award, given only to a select few in the U.S. He is also certified with OMC, Volvo Penta, Detroit
Diesel, Onan Generators, Kohler Generators, and Crusader.Leon served as a consultant for Mercury
Marine in upgrading their Bravo outdrives and has consulted with other top-name manufacturers in the
research and development of high-performance marine products including Crane Cams, B&M Blowers and
PFM products.

In 2000, they finished in the top five of the APBA. The team held the front spot in 2001 until the unfortunate
death of driver Jack Carmody in the Corpus Christi, Texas race. Leon has now teamed with Chris Carmody,
Jack's brother, to crew chief the new APBA SuperCat Hidden Agenda, a 40-foot Skater.

Pleasure Boating B'yond Reason. When Leon's not racing or working on engines, he enjoys spending time
in a 32-foot Douglas Skater appropriately named B'yond Reason. Leon and partner Art Zunker enjoy
running one of the fastest pleasure boats on the water. It's powered by twin 598-cubic-inch, blown-injected
big blocks that produce up to 1,200 horsepower and push the Skater in excess of 165 mph.

High-Performance Specialists Leon's 25 years of experience with high-performance boats - servicing all
types of engines, competing in powerboat racing and consulting with marine-industry manufacturers -
uniquely qualifies him to offer the customization services of Derebery Performance Marine. Leon and his
highly accredited team specialize in serving the needs of the custom and performance boater.

Art Zunker developed his love of speed as a teenager. Throughout high school and college he built and
raced street rods along with several of his friends. After he married he introduced his wife, Cheryl, to the
world of racing and the love of things that go fast.

The Zunkers need for speed turned from cars and motorcycles to boats in 1995 when they purchased a
1900 29-foot Fountain Fever. This boat had twin stock engines and would run in the upper 70mph range.
This speed was adequate while learning how to handle a performance boat but it wasn’t sufficient once this
learning process was over. This was when the Zunkers met Leon Derebery. When the Fountain, named
Double Quick, took to the lake the next spring the boat was running over 100mph. This was also the
beginning of a friendship between the Zunker and Derebery families.

In 1998 Art and Leon joined forces and acquired a 32-foot Douglas Skater which they appropriately named
B’yond reason. This boat went into the water for the first time in January 2000. From this first test run the
potential of B’yond Reason was apparent. Through the combined efforts of Art and Leon B'yond Reason
has become known as the fastest 32-foot skater in the world.

B'yond Reason  is powered by twin 1200hp engines built and maintained by Leon at his business, Derebery
Performance Marine on Highport Road where the boat is based. B'yond Reason was built for Poker Runs
and has participated in several of these events at Lake Texoma .  This Texas based team has also taken
this spectacular boat to out of state events.

With this achievement in hand, Art and Leon are moving on to their next goal which is to go after the World
Kilo Record. Toward this goal, they are having built a custom 36-foot Douglas Skater. This boat will
encompass the latest technology in performance and safety and will be capable of achieving speeds in
excess of 200mph. This boat will also be named B’yond Reason and should make her debut in the winter of
2005.
